A classic early 20th century brooch by the master of Arts Nouveau and Deco jewellery
The style Fahrner and his designers cultivated came to be seen as typical of the art deco movement, although Fahrner’s history goes back further than that and was embedded in the late art nouveau movement. This leaf brooch with its swaying curves and delicately engineered silver is a masterpiece of design and execution. Each leaf has an open stripe section and closed stripe section studded with maracsite, The stem and tail similarly are set with glittering marcasite.
This is possibly a later piece as it has a roll over safety clasp, but is marked to the rear with TF initials and 925 silver. In beautiful condition for its age this is a truly collectable piece of early 20th century jewellery
