A standout necklace and earring set by renowned fashion house Renoir.

This Renoir two piece sets a high standard of quality and style. The company ran between the 1946 and 1964 and was founded by Jerry Fels whose jewellery career dates back to the 1930s. Renoir (and later Renoir-Matisse) specialised in a reverence to the arts and crafts movement and used naturalistic designs and copper which was considered highly prized among fans of that movement. The copper was specially treated in order not to tarnish.

This set comprises a necklace and earrings in a stylised leaf design, which could also represent wings. The necklace has 10 linked panels suspended on an adjustable length chain with pendant finial. The earrings are a single version of the same panels and are mounted on sturdy clips. The pieces date to the earlier part of the company’s production maybe around 1950 and are signed “Renoir”. Still very highly regarded and collectable this set makes a stunning addition to a costume jewellery collection.

All pieces are in excellent condition. They clearly have signs of age but very little of wear. The clips on the earrings are in good health and all links and connections remain strong.
