A touch of chic to lighten up the evenings with this French glass side lamp.
Dating to around the mid 20th century, this elegant little lamp is just the thing to add a touch of brightness to the long winter evenings. Made in France, it uses the pate-de-verre (glass paste) method to create an organic twist which tapers the body to the lamp holder. At the top is a silver plated collar and the original standard bayonet fit lamp holder complete with shade ring. The base has been impressed with a hobnail style pattern to stop the lamp slipping or marking the surface.
Rewired with twin-cord silk bound cable and fitted with a black in-line rocker switch, this lamp is ready to go, perfect as a reading or bedside lamp, but also ideal just to illuminate a niche or hallway.
The shade and bulb shown in the photos are not included and only shown for illustrative purposes.
The body of the lamp and all main fittings are in excellent condition with no chips or damage to the glass and a very minor scuff to the silver plated collar. The lamp holder is original and in fully working order. The lamp has been rewired and meets modern safety standards.
